Step One: Choosing a Georgia Salesperson Pre-License Course
The two options are classroom and online. For more information on either option, please click the button above or contact Kim Crumley, Career Development Specialist, at 770-540-5692.
Step Two: Completing the School Exam
The state of Georgia requires that the school exam be proctored, so you would need to contact your pre-license school for scheduling and exam location. A background check will need to be completed at this time (required prior to the state exam). The cost for a background check is up to $25 and can be done at a local police department or sheriff’s office.
Step Three: Completing the State Exam
State exam information will be given to student at the school where they took their pre-license course. The $121 Examination Fee to Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) is due prior to scheduling your state exam. Please visit online.goamp.com for more information and testing locations.
Step Four: Affiliate your License
Upon passing the state exam, you are ready to affiliate your license with a brokerage (unless you turned in a Sponsoring Broker form at the time of your exam…see the AMP Candidate Handbook for more information). The licensing fee is $170 and is paid to the Georgia Real Estate Commission (if affiliated within the first three months after the state exam…the licensing fee doubles to $340 after 3 months. If a license is not affiliated with a brokerage within one year, the candidate must retake the state exam) and is paid to the Georgia Real Estate Commission.
